Spring!
Hello Kindling Community,
Look at this gorgeous creation, a favorite symbol of spring, created by one of the lovely guests of our “moms mini retreat” last week! Check out this post to see more. Don’t miss the next Ladies and Femmes Mini Retreat, coming up April 26th! Spots have been selling fast.
I’m really looking forward to MMSD Spring Break to have some extra time with my kiddo and do a little reset of life and studio. Kindling will be closed for the week, and I have some fun ideas up my sleeve for fresh sensory table options and new ways for kiddos to engage with the space.
Don’t miss:
Free art morning tomorrow!
No School Day Art Play, April 11th!
Weaving series for kids! Starting April 2nd!
More info on all of that and more below.
Finally, scroll all the way to the bottom for a save-the-date for a very special summer celebration coming up in our home, The Eastmorland Community Center.
Hope to see you soon!

What’s coming up?
Saturday Morning Community Art
This month let’s paint! I’ll set up a large canvas for us to work on together. We can do it outside if it’s warm enough! I’ll also get out the watercolors, some nice papers if people want to do their own thing, and some fun unconventional objects to use as paint brushes. Come play and celebrate the possibility of spring.
I’ll make a pot of coffee! Wear clothes to get messy.

A note about the future of Kindling and The Eastmorland Community Center.
Many of you have heard the super exciting news, and it’s really happening! Our home, The Eastmorland Community Center (ECC), is pursuing a site redevelopment starting August 2025. The church-centric structure will be taken down, to be replaced with 24 units of workforce housing and a new mixed-use community center! Kindling will essentially be without a physical home for about a year, and I plan to move into the new center in Fall 2026.
To learn a little more about ECC, check out this blog post I wrote back in December. I’ll write again with more about my plans for that year of no physical home and ways to support this awesome project. For now, I want you to mark your calendars for this open house and celebration happening just before demolition!
